Hammock Chair created for ideal rest

September 15th, 2010

If the person has the choice where to sit to have rest, – on the armchair or in the hammock, he will undoubtedly choose hammock. Why? Well, first of all everybody surely has armchairs and sofas and hardly there will be place for a hammock among this furniture. Secondly exactly hammock is associated with relax, rest and freedom. Even if it does not stand on the warm sea shore in the shade of exotic trees and just in the hall of office building, in the living room or on the veranda of country house. The author of such universal armchair-hammock became Kiev designer Yuri Tsegla.

Yuri became not only the author of the project but tried all advantages of this hammock on himself experiencing it in the field: both on the sea shore and in the mountains and out of the city and on the fishing. He sais that the test was very successful and that means that there is a reason to launch the mass production of this wonderful furniture.

The main part of the armchair where the textile is fixed to can be made of wood but the author prefers metal construction. The cover can be either canvas or linen or leather. If the weather is bad, you can take it off and if it gets dirty the washing in the common washing machine will give it back its initial cleanness and neatness.

On his web-site Yuri Tsegla sais that being folded his Hammock Chair does not take much place so it is possible to keep it in closet or balcony but it is a little bit heavy.

By the way, initially this armchair was not the independent practical element of interior but the element of exhibition installation “Glance to future” which was presented by the designer in 2009.

Bright childhood

August 20th, 2010

The childhood should be bright – not only psychologists but also parents are sure in this. Bright colors in the children room stimulate the emotional perception of the child and wake up his fantasy. The designers help to make the world of child to be really magic.

It is supposed that little children spend more time moving than sitting on the chair but it does not mean that this element of furniture should not present in the room. Looking at the work of Simon Joyau one wants as more chairs in the room as it is possible. It is not clear what attracts more in these chairs – their unique design which looks like the both and bird at the same time or bright cheerful colors capable to turn any adult back to the childhood. The designer did not forget about the safety either – the chairs are made of harmless plastic.

However it is better to choose the bright and functional table in addition to it. For example like the company Maybe Design Studio (Austria-Turkey) offers. The table attracts the parents with its simple but comfortable design and children who like to hide and find treasures with the unusual storages looking like bound socks. And all members of family will like bright colors.

Having two so useful and pleasant articles one wants to continue filling the room of your baby with bright interior things. Start to train it to the order in own things placing uncommon rag to the children room furniture. On this wonderful-tree the red cats are sitting, the head of Mickey Mouse is jutting out and yellow chicken legs are stuck. The “Paradise Tree” of Magis company is made of plastic and meets all requirements of safety.

Trio chair from Miele

June 9th, 2010

The conceptions which was offered by the Japanese design-group Miele is wonderful with its simplicity and laconism. One thing – one material – one production technology. The ideal trio. They also called the chair – Trio.

Actually this is a beginning of the big project LOVE ONE. The Japanese actively call other design-studios to join it. From one side this will help to get to know the delights of monogamy. From the other side it will become possible to learn on practice the qualities of one or other material in its “clearness”.

In this case the production of stool – attached table the carbon fiber was produced. So it has a great safety factor.

The prototype was the leather belts – the carbon fiber obediently repeated their curves.

In stead of the seeming simplicity of production of such “stool” (he is likely to be in general circulation), the authors position it as a product of limited edition on principle. They produce it exceptionally themselves. Is there other way to learn the technological qualities of the material? And at least to understand for what exactly to love it!
